CJ Mowell, Jr. is the President and Founder of Carl J Mowell & Son Funeral Home. He is married to Faye and has four children, Beth, Ferrell, David, and Becky, who passed away in 2010. CJ graduated from the Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science . He opened the funeral home with his father, Reverend CJ Mowell, and with the support of friend Ed Davis, in 1964. He has been a licensed funeral director since 1962 and also served as the Fayette County Coroner for 50 years, retiring in March of 2016. CJ was the past President of National Selected Morticians/Selected Independent Funeral Homes, Academy of Graduate Embalmers of Georgia.

This year, the FSS elves worked diligently to gather a list of Christmas wishes from 83 senior citizens who may not otherwise have received gifts this season. A total of 246 gifts and 48 fruit bags will be delivered to those participating in the program. Santa, with the help of Fayette Senior Services and generous community supporters, spread the Christmas spirit early this holiday season!
